The Southern Star is delighted to bring you the 2nd year of the West Cork Business & Tourism Awards.  Last year's Awards were a huge success with over 230 entries received from 128 organisations throughout West Cork.  We always knew West Cork was home to many successful and innovative businesses yet even we were blown away by the fantastic quality of entries.  The Awards are our way of highlighting and celebrating the best in class activity that emanates from our region so we're thrilled to be able to do the same again this year.

Together with our Headline Partner Cork County Council, our Associate Sponsor AIB and a very experienced panel of judges, we want to give local businesses, large & small, newly formed or established for years, the opportunity to show the region why they’re the best at what they do.

We're also delighted to announce that Fáilte Ireland and the Wild Atlantic Way are backing an additional award for Best West Cork Wild Atlantic Way Business. This will be awarded to a business they feel brings the ethos fo the Wild Atlantic Way to life. 'The success of the Wild Atlantic Way is very much testament to the strong partnership we have with local industry and this award will recognise the achievements of a tourism business who is striving to embody the Wild Atlantic Way brand', said Josephine O'Driscoll, Wild Atlantic Way Manager at Fáilte Ireland.

Also new for this year, is the opportunity to take it one step further.  The winner of the West Cork Business of the Year will go up against equivalent winners from North Cork and East Cork for the coveted title of overall Cork County Business of the Year. This will take place at a glamorous luncheon in Cork City in January.

'Entries for 2019 have now closed and once again we've been blown away by the number and quality of entries. The judges are busy reviewing the entries, and finalists (3 per category) will be announced early October.

Any questions, please CONTACT US.  Good luck!
