ABOUT

The finalists in each of the 10 awards categories for the inaugural North Cork Business & Tourism Awards have been announced.

The Awards, which are being run by Cork County Council in association with AIB and The Corkman, received over 80 entries across ten categories, with 63 different businesses and organisations taking part.

The panel of six judges had a tough task due to the high standard of entries and shortlisted three finalists for each category, rising to four in some where the standard of entries was simply too high to choose.

The finalists pitched their businesses to the judges at the ‘Pitch Night’ which was held at AIB Mallow on Wednesday 16th October, which was a great evening, with some very inspiring presentations.Following this, the judges had the unenviable task of choosing just 1 winner for each category and an overall North Cork Business of the Year and these and these will be announced at a special Gala Awards Dinner at Charleville Park Hotel on Friday 22nd November, with TV presenter Síle Seoige as guest MC. The evening kicks off with a drinks reception followed by a four course meal, music and dancing, and the awards presentations will include an overall North Cork Business of the Year award and an Outstanding North Cork Business Ambassador award.

All finalists and category sponsors will receive two complimentary tickets to the Gala Awards Dinner and there is an opportunity to buy additional tickets for staff.  Please note there are limited additional tickets available.  To book tickets contact Sandra Daw at The Corkman (sdaw@kerryman.ie or 066 – 714 5500) as soon as possible.

The winner of the North Cork Business of the Year will then go up against equivalent winners from West Cork and East Cork for the coveted title of overall Cork County Business of the Year. This will take place at a glamorous luncheon in Cork City in January.

All category finalists will be profiled in a special awards supplement which will be published in The Corkman on Thursday 14th November.
